For celebration of AKAM activities, officers of the department visited above mentioned schools and conducted Seminar on awareness about Drug Abuse and mock parliament on Anti-Drug Abuse campaign were organized by the students. The entire session was interactive and more than 100 children participated in these activities with full enthusiasm. During the programme, the students were educated about drug abuse and steps taken by the government for curbing it. Apart from this, some general queries related to GST which were also raised by the students were discussed at length by the officials attending the program.
Similarly, a tour of the CGST office premises were also organized for the students to make them aware about various formations of the Commissionerate and the functions performed by each formation. Further, they were also shown video clips related to ‘Quit India Movement’ and about drug abuse awareness. In the end of the programme, pledge were also taken by the students to refrain from use of all type of drugs.
. As the fourth activity, officers of Central GST conducted a ‘Paidal-March’ from office towards a public place viz. ‘Kishan Para Chowk’ with banners and pamphlets on drug abuse were distributed to the public to create awareness regarding drug addiction and its negative impact.
